Green Acres Announces 2025 Funding Round
The Green Acres Program is pleased to announce its 2025 funding round. Applications for land acquisition, park development, stewardship, Jake’s Law (Completely Inclusive Playgrounds), and Urban Parks projects will be accepted. The deadline is February 5, 2025. Supplemental funding requests for active projects are also due on February 5, 2025. Application packages and forms can be found under the forms below.

0% interest loans: Green Acres is pleased to announce that all approved loans will now carry a 0% interest rate. Acquisition loans are repayable over 30 years; development loans are repayable over 20 years.
End of CIP Pilot Program: Incentive grants for Completely Inclusive Playgrounds will be available again in 2025 to both counties and municipalities for the third and final funding round. While Green Acres has funded inclusive playgrounds in the past, and will continue to do so after this year, the upcoming funding round marks the last round of incentive funding and the last time this will be a non-competitive category. Local governments can apply for 75% matching grants for Completely Inclusive Playgrounds; awards are anticipated to be between $500,000-$750,000 for municipalities and $750,000-$1,000,000 for counties, depending on demand. The Department of Community Affairs regulations that established standards for Completely Inclusive Playgrounds can be found in the Jake’s Law application.
Public Engagement: Green Acres will again require applicants to conduct meaningful public engagement in the planning process. Applications will not be considered if they do not demonstrate early public outreach and involvement. Projects are more successful when the community is involved!
