Public Engagement

Stakeholder Engagement

CSO permittees are required to conduct a public engagement process to inform, educate and engage members of the community. The NJPDES CSO permits require active public outreach and engagement during the implementation and construction of the CSO LTCP projects. Through public engagement, the interested public may provide input on the location of green infrastructure (GI) projects in their community. In addition, members of the community may be invited to join a Supplemental CSO Team to serve as a liaison between the interested public and the decision makers for the CSO permittees.

CSO Public Hearings

The NJDEP holds public hearings to provide an opportunity for interested members of the public and affected communities to be heard on proposed CSO Draft permit actions.
