lllustrative List of Proposed PFNA, PFOA, and PFOS compounds

The Department proposes to amend Appendix A of N.J.A.C. 7:1E, to add the acidic and anionic forms of perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS) and their respective CAS numbers, the salts and esters of each of these contaminants, as well as the anionic form of perfluorononanoic acid (PFNA) and a listing that includes that contaminant’s salts and esters to the list of hazardous substances.

The Department has developed an illustrative list of compounds identified as salts and esters of PFNA, PFOA, and PFOS (see the Department’s proposal). This list is not intended to be all-inclusive. The Department will update this list as it becomes aware of additional compounds.
