What does the Office of Administrative Hearings and Dispute Resolution handle?

The Office of Administrative Hearings and Dispute Resolution (OAHDR) oversees the administrative hearing process and provides alternative dispute resolution services.

The OAHDR processes and reviews new adjudicatory hearing requests. You can request an adjudicatory hearing to appeal a permit decision or an enforcement decision, and you must submit them on time to be considered. Adjudicatory hearings go through the OAHDR, the Office of Administrative Law, and the Commissioner’s Office to create a final determination. For more information, please visit the Administrative Hearing Process page.

Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) provides an informal setting for parties to settle disputes. Presently, ADR can be requested in addition to a hearing request. A member of the OAHDR acts as a third-party mediator during the discussion, and all avenues for settlement will be explored. Currently, all ADR sessions are held virtually. For more information, please visit the Alternative Dispute Resolution page.
