Environmental Guidance for All Child Care Centers & Educational Facilities
Child Care Centers must conduct an environmental review before Department of Children and Families- Office of Licensing will approve an application to operate a child care center. In order to obtain a Response Action Outcome (RAO), a Licensed Site Remediation Professional must be hired to conduct a Preliminary Assessment, at a minimum, and issue an RAO. Please be advised that the New Jersey Department Of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) is no longer issuing Child Care Facility Approval letters.
