Final Revised Risk Screening Worksheet for Long-Term Carcinogenic and Noncarcinogenic Effects and Short-Term Effects – December 2022
The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has finalized the revised Risk Screening Worksheet for Long-Term Carcinogenic and Noncarcinogenic Effects and Short-Term Effects (Worksheet). The use of the Worksheet in the risk assessment process is described in Section 2.0 of Technical Manual 1003, “Guidance on Preparing a Risk Assessment for Air Contaminant Emissions.”
The draft revised Worksheet was issued for public comment on June 8, 2022 with a request for comments to be submitted by July 8, 2022. A response to comments document and a fact sheet document summarizing all changes were developed and are posted on the Department’s website https://njdepwptest.net/boss/ under “Program Update” and at https://njdepwptest.net/airplanning/ under “What’s New.” Based on comments and supporting documentation received, the acute and chronic sulfuryl fluoride reference concentrations proposed in the draft Worksheet have been revised. No additional changes were made to the draft revised Worksheet based on the comments received.
The final revised Worksheet is posted at the Department’s “Risk Screening Tools” webpage, https://njdepwptest.net/boss/risk-screening-tools/. Also posted at this webpage are the updated “Revisions to the NJDEP/DAQ Risk Screening Worksheet” and the updated “Toxicity Values for Inhalation Exposure.”
