Revised General Permit GP-005A


The Division of Air Quality is announcing a revised General Permit (GP-005A) for “Emergency Generator(s) Burning Distillate Fuels”. The revised GP-005A incorporates the following changes, consistent with the latest State and Federal regulations:

* The revised definition of emergency generators at N.J.A.C. 7:27-8.2 and 19.1 regarding construction, repair and maintenance (CRM) activities;
* The deletion of the provisions that allows the use of any existing distillate fuel oil with sulfur content greater than 15 ppmw (parts per million by weight) contained in the fuel oil storage tank.

The Notice of Availability is scheduled to be published in the September 16, 2019, issue of the New Jersey Register. This new general permit will be available on or after September 16, 2019.
