Webinar Wetlands Application 101 Video

The “Wetlands Application 101” webinar provided an interactive Q&A session where nearly 200 participants had the opportunity to ask real-time questions and receive detailed guidance from DEP experts Patricia Cluelow and Chris Squazzo. The session focused on practical aspects of wetlands permitting—ranging from electronic application submissions and Letter of Interpretation (LOI) protocols to buffer zones, emergency authorizations, and permit timelines. Presenters emphasized regulatory clarity and environmental compliance while highlighting wetlands’ vital role in water filtration, carbon sequestration, and flood mitigation.

Discussion also touched on updates to the NJPACT REAL initiative, the importance of accurate wetland delineations by certified consultants, and how state rules intersect with municipal and agricultural concerns. A recurring message throughout the webinar was the DEP’s openness to comments, its commitment to streamlining services, and the need for both technical precision and public education in managing New Jersey’s sensitive wetland areas.
