New Jersey State Well Drillers & Pump Installers
Examining & Advisory Board
The State Well Drillers and Pump Installers Examining and Advisory Board (Board) is comprised of nine members, whose duties include review and modification of licensing examinations, certification of license applicants and of the results of the examinations, formulation and recommendations to the Department of new rules and regulations. The Board also advises the Department regarding any enforcement actions or complaints against any New Jersey licensed well drillers or pump installers, and may make recommendations to the Commissioner regarding the suspension or revocation of the license of any well driller or pump installer.

The Well Board’s nine members are composed of the following:
- Three master well drillers whose collective experience represents each geologic area of the State and each of the major drilling methods;
- One member who is a New Jersey Licensed well driller of any classification;
- One member not employed by the State and who has no pecuniary involvement in well drilling or pump installing;
- Three representatives of the Department; and
- One New Jersey licensed pump installer.
