Our Mission Statement

“The Division of Water Supply & Geoscience (DWSG) works to ensure New Jersey’s water supply is adequate, reliable, safe, and available for the future, based on sound science.”

What We Do

The Division of Water Supply & Geoscience (DWSG) actively works to meet the NJDEP’s Priority to Protect New Jersey’s Water. As Priority 2 specifies, safe, clean water is vital to New Jersey’s health, quality of life and economy. The DEP protects this precious resource by preventing pollution, cleaning up contamination, ensuring ample supply and investing in strong infrastructure.

In the DWSG, we work to achieve safe, reliable and ample drinking water supplies as well as implementing and enforcing standards and treatment that reflect the best available science.
