Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
Welcome to Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
Welcome to Contaminated Site Remediation & Redevelopment’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Home Page. This website provides guidance and links to assist you in preparing GIS deliverables required by CSRR’s regulations and also contains valuable information regarding the many GIS layers that CSRR serves out to the public.
The Administrative Requirements for the Remediation of Contaminated Sites [pdf] (ARRCS Rule) (N.J.A.C 7:26C1.6) and the Technical Requirements for Site Remediation [pdf] (N.J.A.C. 7:26E) require the submittal of GIS compatible maps at key stages of the remediation process. Please review the Administrative Requirements for GIS Deliverables [pdf] prior to submitting any GIS deliverables. The GIS layers created and maintained by the program can be viewed via the NJ GeoWeb CSRR Profile. They can also be downloaded as shapefiles from the NJDEP’s Bureau of Geographic Information Systems (BGIS) Open Data webpage.
All questions/comments related to CSRR GIS layers, data deliverables, or requirements should be directed to srpgis@njdepwptest.net. Additional NJDEP GIS information can also be accessed through the Bureau of Geographic Information Systems web page.
About Us
CSRR’s GIS Unit is responsible for creating, maintaining and updating various GIS layers that are available both for public viewing via NJ GeoWeb and for download. The Unit also receives and processes GIS deliverable submittals from Licensed Site Remediation Professionals (LSRPs), environmental consultants, and GIS professionals. It is our hope that the information provided in this website will provide both the regulated community and the public in general a better understanding of the available CSRR GIS data and aide the regulated community with the submittal of their GIS data deliverables.
