NOTICE OF READOPTION WITH AMENDMENTS
NOISE CONTROL RULE N.J.A.C. 7:29

PUBLIC NOTICE
Take notice that the NJ Department of Environmental Protection is proposing to readopt the Noise Control rules at N.J.A.C. 7:29, with amendments.  A statement of the substance of the proposal follows:

The Noise Control rules at N.J.A.C. 7:29 establish Statewide sound level standards to control noise from stationary and industrial sources and procedures for measuring such noise by county and municipal agencies. The Department proposes to amend N.J.A.C. 7:29-2.10, Calculations, which directs how data are to be corrected to account for other sound sources, to update the calculation method due to changes in sound level measuring equipment technology.

The proposal is scheduled to be published in the New Jersey Register dated December 20, 2010.  A copy of the proposal (PDF) can be viewed or downloaded from the Department’s website and LexisNexis Customer Service at (800)223-1944 or https://www.lexisnexis.com/hottopics/njoal/.  Be advised that there may be a fee for obtaining a copy of the proposal from some sources.
