Environmental Surveillance and Monitoring Program

The Nuclear Environmental Engineering operates an independent Environmental Surveillance and Monitoring Program (ESMP) in the environs of the Oyster Creek, Hope Creek, and Salem Nuclear Generating Station (Units 1 & 2). This program is performed in accordance with the legislative authority of the New Jersey Radiation Accident Response Act (N.J.S.A. 26:2D-43.g.). The purpose of the ESMP is to monitor various environmental media for radioactivity that may be attributable to the operation of New Jersey’s nuclear power plants.

The ESMP includes the following program areas:(2) the Thermoluminescent Dosimetry (TLD) Program, and (3) the Continuous Radiological Environmental Surveillance Telemetry Network (CREST).   Either link to the sections via the text or add pictures  below and link that way.
