Outdoor Recreation Advisory Committee Nominations
Community Investment and Economic Revitalization is requesting nominations for advisory members for the Outdoor Recreation Advisory Committee to serve at the pleasure of the Commissioner and may be excused by the Commissioner with or without cause. Members shall not be compensated by the DEP or the State for their service on the Advisory Committee unless such service is attendant to their preexisting State employment. Individuals selected for appointment to the Advisory Committee will be invited to serve for 18 months.
Interested applicants may self-nominate or be nominated by another individual or organization. The following information must be included in the package of materials submitted for each individual nominated for consideration:

- A letter of nomination or self-nomination that clearly states the name and affiliation of the nominee, the basis for the nomination (i.e., specific attributes that qualify the nominee for service in this capacity), and confirmation that the nominee is willing to serve as a member of the Committee;
- A statement of interest including any experience with open space and recreation, ecotourism, equity, environmental justice, climate resilience and sustainability, technology, or conservation and restoration;
- The nominee’s current resume.

CIER endeavors to ensure that the membership on the Outdoor Recreation Advisory Committee is fairly balanced in terms of representation by business, nonprofit, environmental, and governmental entities, including relevant State agencies, chambers of commerce, conservation organizations, environmental justice organizations, academic institutions, and county or local park stewards; geographic areas, including urban, suburban, and rural members; gender, and ethnic and minority groups; as well as individuals with disabilities.
Appointments shall be made without discrimination based on age, race, color, national origin, sex, disability, or religion.
