Background/About
The Marine Resources Administration supports the Division of Land Resource Protection in their charge of regulating land use activities by providing guidance, maps or surveys, and technical review of waterfront development permit applications subject to the Coastal Zone Management Rules at N.J.A.C. 7:7. Waterfront development activities can include projects like docks, bulkheads, marinas, channel dredging, aquaculture gear, living shorelines, ports, sand mining, and energy generating facilities.

Methods
The MRA is working to develop resource tools for the public and DEP staff to use when preparing or evaluating a permit application. All GIS-based resources are available on the Department’s Bureau of GIS GeoWeb application. Guidance is also available on the Division of Land Resource Protection guidance website.
