The Bureau of Law Enforcement operates under directives from the Attorney General’s Office as well as its own standard operating procedures, which govern the professional and personal conduct of employees and acceptable work performance standards. The Bureau is committed to providing transparency and recognizes that mistakes may be made and the actions of our officers may not meet the expectations of the citizens we serve. The Bureau will thoroughly investigate all reports of misconduct by CPOs regardless of the source. Anyone who files a complaint against a CPO will be treated with courtesy and respect.

If you would like to commend an officer for exceptional service, please utilize the Contact an Office fillable form on our homepage. Please include as much information as possible such as the officer’s name, the location, date, time, and nature of the incident that lead to a positive interaction. These will be sent to the officer’s supervisor.
