CONSERVATION

CONSERVING THE FUTURE

Native fish, wildlife and the habitats that support them are precious, valued resources for New Jersey’s residents and visitors alike. Our team is on a mission to conserve this natural heritage for generations to come.

Freshwater

Freshwater species and their habitats are being impacted by habitat degradation, invasive species, disease, and climate change. New Jersey is taking proactive measures to protect and restore our freshwater resources for the benefit of all New Jerseyans.

Wildlife

We actively conserve New Jersey’s biological diversity by maintaining and enhancing rare, endangered, threatened and nongame wildlife populations within healthy, functioning ecosystems.

Saltwater

New Jersey’s marine habitats and species are important to recreational and commercial activities, as well as the stability of an ecosystem under pressure from climate change and a host of man-made and natural perils.

Law Enforcement

New Jersey has regulations in place to protect and advance conservation. Learn everything you need to know about the specific codes and responsibilities specific to your outdoor interests and activities.
