Swimming Area Closed at Spruce Run Recreation Area
Due to a shortage of lifeguards, the state Department of Environmental Protection's Division of Parks and Forestry will close the swimming area at Spruce Run Recreation Area as of Sunday, August 19.
The shortage is due to the fact that many of the lifeguards are college students returning to school. Swimmers will be referred to the nearby Round Valley Recreation Area where the swimming area is fully staffed and open.
