Bryana De Veaux- Director of Legislative Affairs

As director of the Office of Legislative Affairs (OLA), Bryana leads, coaches, and develops OLA. Bryana leads DEP’s legislative team in responding to pending legislation and oversees management of intergovernmental relations with the legislature and Congressional delegation as well as being the principal advisor to the Commissioner and Deputy Chief Advisor of DEP.  Bryana is the Liaison to the Governor’s Office, Legislative Affairs, IGA, and Counsel’s Office (on bills) in conjunction with the Deputy Chief Advisor. She drives the DEP’s affirmative legislative agenda, assist the Deputy Chief of Staff and senior team on messaging support and delivery around DEP policy priorities.  She also serves as a point of contact for lobbyist, regulated community, advocates.

Nathalie Verhaegen

Special Advisor

Nathalie Verhaegen

As Special Advisor of the Office of Legislative Affairs, Nathalie serves as the legal advisor to OLA. She coordinates with Department programs to obtain program comments on legislation and compile, edit, conduct further legal and policy research, and transmit to internal management and to outside parties as directed. Nathalie performs research on legislation, regulations, and policies of federal, state, and local connection with the Department. Nathalie also serves as legal advisor, conduct legal, legislative, regulatory and policy research.

Nateshea M. Fenderson

Nateshea M. Fenderson

As Executive Assistant for the director of the Office of Legislative Affairs, Nateshea handles special projects and assignments. She assists the director with managing constituent issues with the legislative district offices including follow-up and correspondence, maintaining the constituent tracker, assisting the director with referrals from the Commissioner’s Office. Nateshea is also responsible for office management.
