Grants for historic preservation
Introduction
A variety of federal, state and local programs can fund historic preservation activities in New Jersey. The Historic Preservation Office (HPO) encourages you to investigate the programs highlighted below when considering your historic preservation needs and goals. Every program has unique requirements and applicability. Contact funding organizations early in the planning process for your project or activity to determine how specific programs apply to your needs.

The New Jersey Historic Trust and its parent agency, the Department of Community Affairs, runs many of the state’s grant programs for historic preservation.
