Introduction

The following New Jersey and National Registers of Historic Places listings include properties and historic districts in New Jersey for which a formal action was taken by the State Historic Preservation Officer or designee. Organization

The New Jersey and National Registers of Historic Places use historic names as the primary names for their listings. These may be different from their current names. When known, properties that have SHPO Opinions or DOEs are listed under their historic names as well.

Listings are divided by county, then organized alphabetically by municipality.

  • The main entry is the filing location for HPO’s documentation. This is the “primary” filing location in our databases and other records. If a resource is located in multiple municipalities, this entry includes an “Also located in” list.
  • If an entry is on the “Also located list” for a resource, it has a cross-reference (“See Main Entry/Filed Location”) back to the main entry.
