Historic Property Survey Grant Program

The Historic Property Survey Grant Program is a $400,000 pilot program that will provide grants up to $125,000 for the preparation of Historic Property Surveys throughout the state that include within the defined scope, properties located within a Government Restricted Municipality or that would be considered distress asset/s.

Brownfields Redevelopment Program

The Brownfields Redevelopment Incentive Program is a $50 million per year project-based tax credit. The program provides a one-time transferrable tax credit to incentivize environmental remediation, abatement, and demolition activities that will allow for the redevelopment of brownfields sites for commercial, retail, or mixed-use development or expansion.

Historic Property Reinvestment Program

The Historic Property Reinvestment Program is a $50 million competitive tax credit program to leverage the federal historic tax credit program to support rehabilitation projects of identified historic properties.

Energy Programs

The New Jersey Department of Agriculture offers a variety of clean energy funding initiatives for farmers.

Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure Program Grants

The New Jersey Department of Agriculture (NJDA) is inviting applications for funding opportunities under the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Marketing Service’s (AMS) Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure Program. The NJDA was allotted a total of $3,437,002 in competitive grant funding for projects that aim to enhance the capacity of aggregating, processing, manufacturing, storing, transporting, wholesaling, and distributing locally and regionally produced food products.

Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE)

SARE is a USDA competitive grants program with regional programs and regional leadership. SARE supports research and education that helps build the future economic viability of agriculture in the United States.

Soil and Water Conservation Grants

The State Agriculture Development Committee (SADC) provides cost-sharing grants to landowners in the permanent or eight-year preservation programs to fund approved soil and water conservation projects. These projects not only protect soil and water resources, but increase productivity and profitability for the farmer.

Spotted Lantern Fly Treatment Funding

The New Jersey Department of Agriculture is making grant funds available to counties and municipalities to battle the spotted lanternfly (SLF) for 2024-26. Interested counties and municipalities may apply to receive funds from the Department. The Legislature has provided funding to the Department to reduce SLF populations and minimize their spread.

New Jersey Department of Banking & Insurance

The Department of Banking and Insurance (NJDOBI) regulates the banking, insurance and real estate industries in a professional and timely manner that protects and educates consumers and promotes the growth, financial stability and efficiency of those industries.

New Jersey Department of Children and Families

The New Jersey Department of Children and Families is the state’s first Cabinet-level agency devoted exclusively to serving and supporting at-risk children and families. It is committed to assisting and empowering residents to be safe, healthy and connected through evidence-based, family-centered programs and services that are provided through a robust network of community providers using work-practices that incorporate racial equity, are healing centered and utilize a protective factors framework.

Volunteer Emergency Service Organization Loan 2025

Provides low-interest loans (no grants are available) with a matching requirement to fire departments and ambulance/rescue squads to purchase or refurbish vehicles; purchase equipment; and/or to rehabilitate, construct, expand, or purchase associated structures.

Neighborhood Revitalization Tax Credit Planning 2024

This grant aims to assist qualified non-profit organizations to prepare a neighborhood plan that meets the Neighborhood Revitalization Tax Credit program requirements.

New Jersey Department of Corrections

The Grants Management Unit, within the Office of Policy and Planning, is charged with identifying funding opportunities, providing technical support to staff developing grant applications, grant writing, processing of grant applications, fiscal management of grant funds, monitoring of grant activities and grant reporting requirements. The Grants Management Unit also provides technical direction to the organizational units of the New Jersey Department of Corrections to assure compliance with this policy and applicable internal management procedures.

New Jersey Department of Education

The New Jersey Department of Education supports schools, educators and districts to ensure all of New Jersey’s 1.4 million students have equitable access to high quality education and achieve academic excellence.

New Jersey Department of Health

The Grants Unit provides oversight and support for the New Jersey Department of Health’s entire grant system to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and promote the efficient use of NJDOH resources. Each division awarding grants establishes the specific criteria for its grant programs, evaluates and selects the applications to be funded, and monitors grantee performance.

New Jersey Department of Human Services

The New Jersey Department of Human Services (DHS) is the state’s largest agency. It serves older New Jerseyans, individuals and families with low incomes; people with developmental disabilities, or late-onset disabilities; people who are blind, visually impaired, deaf, hard of hearing, or deaf-blind; parents needing child care services, child support and/or healthcare for their children; people who are dealing with addiction and mental health issues; and families facing catastrophic medical expenses for their children. DHS provides numerous programs and services designed to give eligible individuals and families the help they need for economic and health challenges. They include health insurance through NJ FamilyCare or Medicaid, food assistance through NJ SNAP, independent living supports, personal care services, and much more.

The New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development is dedicated to protecting our workforce, strengthening our businesses, and promoting the dignity of work.

New Jersey Department of Law & Public Safety

The New Jersey Attorney General has broad oversight of the state’s legal and law enforcement matters. As the head of the Department of Law & Public Safety, the Attorney General supervises a wide range of Divisions, Offices, and Commissions, consisting of 2,800 uniformed officers, 600 lawyers, and thousands of other public servants. Generally speaking, the Attorney General’s responsibilities can be divided into five subject matters: criminal, civil, regulatory, grant-making, and juvenile rehabilitation.

New Jersey Military & Veterans Affairs

The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs aims to provide trained and ready forces prepared for rapid response to a wide range of civil and military operations, while providing exemplary services to citizens and Veterans of New Jersey.

New Jersey Historical Commission

The New Jersey Historical Commission (NJHC) is a state agency within the Department of State dedicated to the advancement of public knowledge and preservation of New Jersey history.

New Jersey Department of Transportation

The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) is committed to advancing projects that enhance safety, renew the aging infrastructure and the State’s economy and support new transportation opportunities. The Transportation Trust Fund (TTF) provides the opportunity for State assistance to local governments for the funding of road, bridge and other transportation projects. Annually, the TTF provides $400 million in State Aid to municipalities and counties for local transportation improvements

Grants Management Office

With a mission to increase the amount of federal grant dollars New Jersey receives, the Grant Management Office (GMO) works to help build the capacity of partners to successfully apply for and manage grant programs. GMO assists in reducing and removing barriers to federal grant funding through identifying grant opportunities, providing grant resources, advocacy, and coordination, among federal grant applicants across the state.

The Grants Management Office does not award or apply for any grant funding. It identifies potential sources of grant funding to create, support, and sustain many types of programs that benefit New Jersey.

Training Opportunities

The New Jersey Grants Office compiles and shares trainings opportunities to help grant seekers throughout the various stages of the grant lifecycle. Information will be posted when additional training opportunities are scheduled.

Federal Grant Finder

The Grants Management Office in the New Jersey Department of Treasury has identified a tool that automates the discovery and identification of federal grant opportunities, enhancing the efficiency of this process for stakeholders. Office of Faith Based Initiatives

The mission of the New Jersey Office of Faith Based Initiatives (NJOFBI) is to eliminate barriers to funding and other resource opportunities; create greater access for partnership and enhance the capacity of faith and community based organizations (FBCOs) to create and implement innovative approaches that are designed for community and economic transformation.

New Jersey Office of Homeland Security & Preparedness

The New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness (NJOHSP), through its Grants Management Bureau (GMB), enhances New Jersey’s capability to prevent, protect against, respond to, and recover from acts of terrorism and other catastrophic incidents.

GMB administers a variety of federal non-disaster grant programs and State-aid grant programs. It does so through a variety of phases designed to optimize grant management with integrity, transparency, and 100 percent accountability.

New Jersey Infrastructure Bank

The I-Bank is an independent state financing authority, in but not of the Treasury authorized to issue revenue bonds to make loans to finance the construction of eligible environmental and transportation infrastructure projects. The powers of the I-Bank are vested in the Board of Directors which conducts regular monthly meetings in accordance to the New Jersey Open Public Meetings Act.
