
Sedge Island Field Experience

New Jersey DEP Fish & Wildlife is offering a 3-day, 2-night program open to motivated students going into grades 7 through 9 in September 2025 who are interested in exploring New Jersey’s salt marsh environment. While staying at Sedge Island, students will learn about conservation while exploring the natural and cultural history of Barnegat Bay through the use of kayaks, microscopes, nets, and other scientific tools.
Cost: $350.00, however financial assistance is available.

Deadline to apply is April 12. Students who are selected will be notified April 25. Please note this is a competitive application process.
