Salt Marsh Jewelry Workshop at Sedge Island
July 13, 2024 @ 12:00 pm - July 14, 2024 @ 12:00 pm
Nature has inspired our creativity for centuries! Now you can join NJ Fish & Wildlife staff along with local artists to explore Barnegat Bay and let it inspire you to create your own piece of art. In this retreat style workshop, you will join artist, Hali MacLaren, and learn the basics of working with sterling silver using various traditional jeweler’s tools and techniques. Participants will cut out discs of sheet silver, anneal, texture, stamp, solder and finish their very own charm for a necklace. The natural environment of Sedge Island will inspire a one-of-a-kind silver necklace from each participant.
This workshop is open to anyone 18 years and older, interested in learning about the importance of New Jersey’s salt marshes through kayaking, clamming, fishing, and art! Participants should be prepared to be outside most of the day.
Cost: $300.00
