Prong-Set Found Object Jewelry Workshop at Sedge Island

August 22 @ 12:00 pm - August 23 @ 12:00 pm

Nature has inspired our creativity for centuries! Now you can join NJDEP  Fish & Wildlife staff and jewelry maker, Hali MacLaren (https://hkmjewelry.com/ ), to create your own piece of jewelry inspired by what you find in the saltmarsh environment while learning about the importance of New Jersey’s marine environment.

This program is open to participants 18 years and older. Through kayaking, clamming, and marsh walks, participants will forage for found objects in the marsh to use in a design. Once a specimen is chosen, participants will learn how to design, fabricate, and finish their very own prong-set pendant necklace in sterling silver.

Participants should be prepared to be outside most of the day.

Cost: $300.00, includes lodging at the Sedge Island Natural Resource Education Center, materials, and meals.

To Apply: The workshop is limited to 10 participants. Only applicants who are selected to participate in this program will be notified through email on July 3, 2025. To apply please complete this Application.

Deadline to Apply: July 1, 2025.
