Plastics Advisory Council

The NJ Plastics Advisory Council is hosting an Expert Virtual Panel Discussion evaluating bottle redemption programs.

The meeting will feature five panel discussions:

• Panel #1:  Baseline metrics, status of container recycling rates in New Jersey and Bottle Bill States;
• Panel #2:  Economic implications of a potential bottle redemption program, pros and cons;
• Panel #3:  Environmental considerations;
• Panel #4:  Business perspectives on the bottle redemption question;
• Panel #5:  Government perspectives on the bottle redemption question.

At the start of each panel, expert witnesses will give 5-minute opening statements to offer their perspective on a bottle redemption program, followed by a 30-minute facilitated panel discussion.  After each discussion, ten minutes will be reserved for Q&A from Plastic Advisory Council members.  At the conclusion of all the panel discussions, there will be a two-hour public comment period.
