The purpose of this meeting is to provide an in-person Q&A and clarification on highlands-related applications for the public. This meeting is not for municipal or Highlands Council-related matters. This is not a meeting for public comments or rule amendments. No online options for this particular meeting.
Event Overview:
This public outreach session, hosted in coordination with the Highlands Council, will provide insights into the Highlands application process. NJDEP staff will be present to address your questions and discuss:
- Application processes
- Environmental and engineering reviews
- Highlands Protection Act Rules, as well as Wetlands, Flood Hazard Area, Stormwater Management regulations
- Permits and exemptions for your projects
Key Features of the Meeting:
- Panel discussion with 5–8 NJDEP staff members
- Opportunity to clarify specific regulatory requirements
- Discussions on practical cases, including environmental features like wetlands, swales/ditches, channels, and lagoons steep slopes and upland forested areas
