New Jersey’s Fish & Wildlife’s R3 Hunting & Shooting program is offering a FREE two-day Introduction to Muzzleloader Workshop on Thursday, September 5, 2024, and Sunday, September 8, 2024. This workshop is designed to introduce hunters and recreational shooters 18 years and older to a new opportunity to expand their hunting and shooting knowledge.

Workshop Overview:

This workshop is open to hunters and recreational shooting enthusiast 18 years and older. The program will include a lecture portion and a hands-on range session. Throughout this two-day workshop, participants can expect to gain knowledge that will help them feel comfortable with shooting a muzzleloader and a .22 rifle. The first day of the workshop will be a required lecture that covers everything from equipment, to how to load, clean and handle a muzzleloader safely. The second day of the workshop will be a live range session where participants will get hands on experience loading and shooting a muzzleloader. If you have your own muzzleloader and equipment, please feel free to bring it with you on the day of the range session.

When/Where:

Lecture portion will take place on Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Conservation Center at Assunpink WMA. (Please use this address link for directions.) 1 Eldridge Road, Allentown, New Jersey, 08501

Range sessions will take place on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at the Colliers Mills Training Range. (Please use this address link for directions.) 299 E Colliers Mills Road, New Egypt, 08533
*There will be 3 Live Fire Range sessions from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
*R3 Staff will schedule your time slot for the range session.

Requirements:

Participants must be 18 years or older and be an existing hunter or shooting sports enthusiast. Participants must also possess a valid 2024 New Jersey Hunting Licenses.

Registration:

Registration is limited to 20 participants. To attend the Live Fire Range session, you MUST also attend the lecture portion on Thursday, September 5, 2024. Registration for this program will end at the close of business Thursday, August 29, 2024. You will be notified by close of business Friday, August 30, 2024, if you are awarded a spot.
