The NJ Interagency Council on Climate Resilience is hosting a webinar on heat and built infrastructure in the transportation and energy sectors to continue its extreme heat-focused webinars designed to raise awareness about this climate impact and its effects.
The second 2025 webinar will take place virtually at 11am on Tuesday, May 20th, 2025. To register, visit https://njdepwptest.net/iac-built-infrastructure-webinar.
This engaging session, moderated by Jonathan Gordon, Deputy Director of the Office of Clean Energy Equity at NJ Board of Public Utilities will feature three New Jersey infrastructure and planning experts in a conversation on the impacts of excessive heat on critical infrastructure systems across the state, focusing particularly on energy and transportation systems:
- Thomas Bennert, Director of Rutgers Asphalt Pavement Lab, Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation
- Chris Linn, Manager of Office of Climate and Environment, Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission
- Ed Gray, Vice President 520 Posterof Asset Management and Planning for Public Service Enterprise Group
New Jersey temperatures continue to hit dangerous highs each summer. If you are concerned about built infrastructure or interested in how transportation and energy infrastructure will be impacted during periods of excessive heat and how New Jersey plans to address those impacts, register for the event.
The IAC has two additional webinars scheduled to take place Summer 2025, on environmental justice communities, and natural ecosystems, respectively. Links to recordings of past webinars are also available. Visit the Interagency Council on Climate Resilience Outreach & Engagement webpage to learn more.
