With Bergen County Audubon.
Requires walking, be prepared to be outside in the weather. 

Get a Picture with Smokey Bear!

Meet Smokey Bear

Time: 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m.

Say hi and take a picture with Smokey Bear, roaming the event grounds.

K-9 DEMONSTRATION ZONE

State Park Police K-9 Unit Demonstration

Time: 11:00 a.m., 1 p.m.

Join the State Park Police and their K9 partners for a demonstration to understand the capabilities of our four-legged employees.

DEP ACTIVITY ZONE

Face Painting

Time: 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Get your face painted with a variety of options available.

Explore Nature through Journaling

Time: 11:30 a.m., 2 p.m.

Observe plants, animals, and environment, documenting through sketches and descriptions.

Explore Creativity with Fish Printing

Time: ALL DAY

Learn the traditional Japanese art of gyotaku using rubber fish.

Build Climate-Resilient Models

Time: ALL DAY

Create Lego models of homes resilient to heat waves and flooding. (ages 5+)

Guess Surface Temperatures

Time: 11:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m.

Use infrared thermometer guns to test predictions and learn about cooling factors. (ages 10+)

Create Eco-Bricks

Time: ALL DAY

Learn the importance of recycling by creating eco-bricks with non-recyclable plastic waste.

Build Wind-Powered Elevators

Time: 12 p.m., 2 p.m.

Learn how wind can be converted into mechanical energy by building miniature elevators. (ages 10+)

Participate in Chalk Drawings

Time: ALL DAY

Join in creating chalk murals on large sheets of craft paper.

See How NJ Fights Wildfires

Time: ALL DAY, indoors!

Check out our State Forest Fire Service Brush Truck to see what it takes to fight forest fires. 

DISCOVERY DRIVE

Wildlife Mobile Education Trailer (MET)

Time: ALL DAY

Step inside (out of the weather) into the Mobile Education Trailer to learn about the role of hunters and anglers in conservation and NJ’s natural resources.

Mobile Aquarium with NJ Fish

Time: ALL DAY, outdoors

Check out Fish and Wildlife’s mobile hatchery truck. This truck has an aquarium that will have various species of warm water fish such as bass, sunfish, perch, crappie and bullhead. 

Discover Electric Vehicles

Time: ALL DAY, outdoors

Learn about driving electric, incentives, and idling misconceptions.
