The NJ Marine Fisheries Council’s Spiny Dogfish Committee will hold a public meeting on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at 5:00 pm virtually.  The meeting link can be found below.  The purpose of the meeting is to discuss a 59.4% reduction in the coastwide commercial quota for spiny dogfish during the 2023/24 fishing season (May 1-April 30).  Further discussion will be on the potential to decrease the current daily trip limit of 7,500 pounds to prevent premature harvest of the quota.  If you have any questions, please contact the New Jersey Marine Fisheries Administration at (609) 748-2020.
