Fly Tying Crash Course

March 4 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Have you wanted to explore fly tying but didn’t know where to start? Did you get a fly-tying kit for the holidays, and it all looks strange to you? Join the staff at Pequest Trout Hatchery and Natural Resource Education Center and let us walk you through the tools and process of fly tying. This class is 2 days*, each day will be two hours.

Day 1, March 4 – We will go over all the basic tools, fly tying vices, materials and how to start and finish a fly.

Day 2, March 11 –  You will get to tie a classic woolly bugger, an extremely productive fly. When you leave day two you will have a few woolly buggers to take with you.

All tools and materials will be provided.

For ages 12 and above. Participants 16 years and younger must be accompanied by a ticket holding adult.

Cost: $10.00 payable on the day of the program by credit card or by check made out to State of NJ.

*Participants must attend both days.
